PT. Visi Globalindo Data Utama has predicted that in the 1st quarter of 2019, the coal mine industry will face the growth of -0.77%. Although they will still suffer a decline in performance, it will till become an adequate acquisition compared to the growth during the 1st quarter of 2018 which faced up to -4.23%. If we were to measure the increase, it rises up to 3.46 points as of the previous year.
This matter is paralleled with advancing the conditions of global commodity prices that is relied upon to become one of the solutions for the government to raise exports. The production of coal in this current year of 2018 is projected to penetrate its peak point concomitantly with the allocated exportation of 100 million ton. Additional export quota mentioned refers to Kepmen ESDM No. 1924/2018 about alterations above the Kepmen EDSM No. 23/2018 regarding the determinism percentage of coal sales for the country’s interest in 2018.
Based on RPJMN (Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Nasional) within the year 2015 up to 2019, the production of coal by 2018 is pegged at 425 million ton. However, based on work plans and company budget (RKAP), coal production throughout 2018 is targeted at 485 million ton.
Other than that, the price rise of coal will also bring about a positive impact on the citizens of Indonesia. As the condition of coal mines progress, it will cause a need for additional labor in that particular sector. Therefore, it will undoubtedly raise the value of prosperity in the community, especially those living near the site’s area.
Other than the price increase of coal, the improvement within the coal mine sector is caused by the high demands of the country. Up to this day, the government has prioritized the whole coal industry to supply PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) (Persero). Large-scale companies provide an estimated 80% of coal produced for PLN.
The improvements in the modern outlook of coal mines will also bring about a positive impact on the growth of heavily equipped industries. Demands of heavy equipment are predicted to increase. The previous statement is based on consumers data where a large portion of demands is coming from the mining sector. The second Chairperson of PAABI (Perhimpunan Agen Tunggal Alat Berat Indonesia), Bima Dwikora stated that the entirety of orders from the mining sector is close to 19 thousand. This opportunity is beneficial to the agent of heavy equipment. Therefore, this momentum needs to be taken advantage of as well as possible by the perpetrator, one of them by increasing productivity and use of technology.
